WHSH, or also known as Wendy’s High School Heisman, was actually established in 1994 as an honor to high school student athletics. The WHSH opens the program every autumn and starts searching for high school’s most esteemed athletes, both women and men. Hence, if you want to participate and become recognized then you need to work harder to excel in those three aspects in your study every year.

The nominees of the Wendy’s Heisman Scholarship are not randomly picked out from any schools. They are decided based on the committee members of the scholarship program. In fact, the nominees are decided by their own school committee. It means that you need to show excellent progress in those three aspects we have discussed previously so your school committee will recognize you as a talented and eligible nominee as a representative from your high school. Every year, each school can only recommend one female and male student for the scholarship award therefore you need to be really ambitious and serious in competing.



Wendy’s Heisman Scholarship Eligibility

The foremost important requirement or qualification all of the nominees should meet is that they have to at least participate in one of the twenty-seven eligible sports. What are they? They are swimming, softball, soccer, judo, gymnastics, football, hockey, cheerleading, tennis, basketball, baseball, and badminton. Aside from the previous common sports, the nominees can also be a participant of other sports such as wrestling, diving, hockey, fencing, equestrian, weight lifting, canoeing, bowling and golf. And it is always better if you have participated in more than one sport so you can gain more points.

Past Winners

There are already lots of past winners of the Wendy’s Heisman Scholarship you can learn from. The first winner in 1994 was Barret Robinson from Chaminade-Julienne High School. The current winner in 2012 was Samuel Prakel from Versailles High School. It has been recorded that there are twenty-six winners who have joined the family of WHSH so if you want to be the next generation then you need to work hard to achieve it.
