The Rosewood Family Scholarship
The history of the Rosewood Family scholarship began in 2002 with the Real Rosewood Foundation to find lost survivors and descendants, and to create a timeline and work to preserve history. Ninety years later after the massacre, descendants and family members have a reunion celebration every July. Instead of being angry about their hometown being destroyed, they have chosen to focus on higher learning. Many have gone on to become doctors, lawyers, educators, engineers, and skilled workers. They have retained their ancestors values and strong work ethics. The foundation is also currently working on two songs, “Rosewood, No More” and “Rosewood Florida”.
