The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12 Physical Education Board Exam today, on March 30, 2019, under the ongoing board examination 2019. Physical Education is not one of the main subjects for all the streams but many students choose the subject as an optional one.

India Today got talking to highly experienced Head Board examiner Ajay Vashist, PGT Physical Education, at DPS Bulandshahr, with over 18 years of teaching experience and ten years of board examiner experience. He spoke to us about the standard of the CBSE 2019 Class 12 Physical Education paper, and how students could be expected to fare in the results.

Direct questions

The board examiner stated that the questions asked in the Physical Education paper were very balanced and direct.

“All questions asked in the paper were direct. It must have become easy for students to understand the concept clearly and answer the questions easily,” said Ajay Vashist.

Expected marks by average students

As per the Board examiner, the marks that average students would be able to score for the paper would be in the range of 80 to 90 out of 100.

Comparison with last year’s paper:

“As compared to the last year’s question paper, the Physical Education exam was a bit easier. Overall, the paper was somewhat similar to that of last year’s paper,” he said.

Lengthy paper:

Most of the students agreed that the paper was not too lengthy. While some found it easy, others had difficulty in tackling the questions.

As per the Board examiner, Ajay Vashist, “The paper was not too lengthy, it was appropriate as per the prescribed time.”

Expected questions from different topics:

The question paper consisted of direct questions. All the questions asked in the paper were from the syllabus.

This year, there was not even a single question that came out of the syllabus. All the questions asked in the paper were based on the syllabus prescribed by the board.

Verdict: Overall an easy paper

“The paper was very easy, even easier than the previous year,” says Ajay Vashist, Board examiner, CBSE.

This year, the overall level of paper was quite easy and it was not too long to solve. Most of the students found the paper easy and hence, they are expecting to score good marks.
